Hala Sultan Tekke

Lanarca is also home to an important Muslim religious site; at Hala Sultan Tekke is said that the aunt of the prophet Muhammad fell from her horse and died. A mosque was built in her honour and is considered the third holiest place for Muslims.

Salt Lake

There famous salt lake of Lanarca is actually 4 interconnected lakes. In winter, water accumulates and attracts flocks of bright pink flamingos who feast upon the pink shrimp found here. The water evaporates in the hot summer, leaving layers of salt that measure up to 10 centimetres in thickness.

Zenobia Wreck

The Zenobia wreck is a definite must when visiting Lanarca. The Zenobia cargo ship sunk some 30 years ago and the remains are incredibly well preserved. The dive site carries from 14-42 meters in depth, so divers of all levels have something to see. This site has been voted among the 10 best dive sites in the world.

Choirokoitia

The ancient site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a unique glimpse into the lives of those who lived some 9,000 years ago. The ruins from original structures still stand and have been integrated into accurate reconstructions. There is constant archaeological work being done here, shedding new light on how the ancient people lived.
