This small town, located on the rugged coast above the Tyrrhenian Sea, is about an hour from Lamezia Terme. Narrow alleyways, charming cafés and beautiful beaches await the visitor. A highlight is Santa Maria dell’Isola church, from which there is a wonderful view over Tropea.

South of Tropea, about 90 minutes from Lamezia Terme, you’ll find what is perhaps Italy’s loveliest beach just around the headland. Tiny isolated coves, crystal-clear sea – what more could anyone want?

The charming village of Scylla, on the Messina Strait, has the feel of the real Italy. Stroll around the quaint fishing quarter of Chianalea, visit the cathedral and be sure to try the locals’ signature dish: freshly-caught swordfish!

Lamezia Terme got its name for good reasons, as the hot therapeutic springs have been bubbling in the town for over 2,000 years. The Sambiase district offers numerous thermal baths, which are highly beneficial for people with rheumatic, skin or respiratory-tract ailments with their 39-degree water.

Just half-an-hour from Lamezia Terme is the small town of Pizzo, which prides itself on having invented the delicious Tartufo ice-cream – it’s obligatory to try it! Our special tip is Dante bar – it tastes really good there.
